VerMap – Compare File Versions
Review by on
The first thing you need to know about the Very Ltd-developed application VerMap is what sort of functionality it has to offer, what can it do to help you out. And I will be more than happy to share that information with you. But before I get into that, I have to issue this warning: VerMap is a software application meant to be used by the advanced or expert user. Novice or inexperience users who don’t know what they’re doing may damage their system. Or to put it in other words, not knowing how to use this application or improper use of this application may lead to complete corruption of the system.

With that warning out of the way, let’s focus on the functionality this application has to offer. I will try and provide you with a quick and concise explanation so that you can get a clear idea of the VerMap application can do for you. Here goes: the application displays the version of files in two folder paths, highlighting the differences. It provides a handy and simple way of checking out the version of files stored on your computer.

With that explanation out of the way, I have to issue another warning. Please note that VerMap will display version info only for files that have internal version resources. The Microsoft-developed Windows operating system provides support for version information for a lot of file types, like for example EXE and DLL. If the files you select have such info, VerMap will display it. If they do not, it won’t – it’s that simple.

Before you go get VerMap and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 3.2MB, which means that that it will take very little time for the download to complete (even if you have to contend with a poor internet connection).
Supported OS – the application should work just fine with any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system.
Limitations – there are no limitations as this program is freeware. You can enjoy the functionality it has to offer for as long as you want and you don’t have to part with your hard earned money.

Pros
  • Simple interface
  • Easy to use
  • Display version information, highlights the differences
  • Freeware

Cons
  • Dated looks

Additional information on the VerMap software application is available on the developer’s official site here.
